The results of the field studies of the humic substances as the natural indicators of the hydrological structures conducted on the Rybinskoe reservoir in 2003-2008 were generalized. The diagnostic features of the two characteristics of the humic substances fluorescence – intensity and the class of the fluorescence band evaluated using the classification algorithm of the artificial neural networks – were studied. The results of the classification were compared to the variations of the photophysical parameters of the humic substances of different genesis obtained using the technique of laser fluorimetry.
